Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers must be background checked to enter the building. For specific, classroom opportunities, please connect with your child's classroom teacher. All volunteers need a current background check. If you would like to request a BG check, please email Alissa Ostroot at alissa.ostroot@isd728.org.

Volunteers Needed!


We need volunteers for important upcoming events. Thursday, February 13, we're having our next Hawk Pride Celebration, Inflatable Fun, during students' PE specialist time. Our PE teachers need help with supervision during each grade-level time. The volunteer time slots are 90 minutes, and five time slots are available. 

​Our Book Fair will be open to families during conferences, so we need volunteers to support​ on February 11 (evening) and February 18 (day and evening). Our PAC will host a Book Swap at the end of February, we hope we can help make it a success! ​Last, but not least, our Art & Talent Show is quickly approaching in early March. Thank you for partnering with our school staff!

Background Checks  

  • Criminal background checks are required for volunteers who will have contact with students.
  • Contact with students includes field trips that involve a volunteer in charge of a group, and students are not directly under the supervision of a district employee at all times.
  • Contact with students also includes any activity in the building where students may be in proximity of the volunteer, and students are not directly under the supervision of a district employee at all times.
  • The cost of volunteer background checks is $10.25 payable by applicants via the Trusted Employees website. Only personal credit cards are accepted.
  • Background checks for volunteers must be renewed every three school years.


Background checks can take time to process.
